Contract Sewing General Ordering Information:

Before starting a Bag and Backpack production. We summarized the development of a new bag or backpack to a few step process. It includes (1) designing the backpack and adapting the design to a „blueprint“ that defines every single detail; (2) utilizing a means to sew the backpack into a workable sample and (3) making revisions and improvements to the sample – and remaking it multiple times – until you have exactly the product you want.

When you start by creating professional drawings of your new product it should include all dimensions of the features such as pockets, gaps, etc. Furthermore you have to consider which materials you want to use including any zippers, buckles, clasps and other features.

Samples. We have a professional sample making and can prepare samples for every product you want to produce before starting a production. The sampling lead time will be extended if there are special custom made details involved, such as custom hardware, custom lining, custom leather etc.

Materials. Our factory partners maintain a warehouse of thousands of yards of material for you to choose from. In addition, we maintain a purchasing office that can be utilized to locate materials not in stock.

Genuine leathers: Cowhide (natural, unbleached skin of a cow; the best quality hides are usually presented in their natural colors; patterned into animal prints, such as crocodile, snake, lizard), Napa leather (typically dyed, made from kid-, cow-, calf-, lamb- or other skin by tanning), Nubuck (top-grain cattle leather that has been sanded or buffed on the grain side (or outside) and has a velvet-like surface. It is resistant to wear, and may be white or colored), ostrich (2nd strongest leather in the world just behind the kangaroo), suede (leather with a napped finish, made from the underside of the skin; primarily lamb, although goat, calf and deer are commonly used) etc.; Cowhide – vegetable tanned cow leathers (made for high end luxury collections of backpacks).

Artificial leathers: PU (polyurethane), PVC (vinyl), TPU. PU made artificial leathers are most popular and widely used in different bags as they can be made available in different pattern and color. They can also be made into degradable, eco-friendly leathers popularly used in today’s fashion bags and accessories.

Textile related:Nylon, Canvas fabrics, oxford fabrics, rayon cloth, pvc flocking, plain flocking, nylon-cotton fabric, linen-cotton fabric etc.

One of the most required textile materials for bags and backpacks is Nylon. Nylon is a polyamide and mainly used in high-end bags often in combination with other materials for example leather. It is a synthetic material that is made of fibers into a fabric. The yarn thickness is indicated with denier (den). In general, the higher the denier strength, the more tear-resistant the fabric is. This is also the advantage of nylon: it is tear-resistant, hard-wearing and is also water-repellent due to its poor suction power. Since it is also a purely synthetic material, it is also safe from moths. The biggest advantage of nylon, however, is that it is the lightest of all the materials presented. So if you need a suitcase with little weight, we advise you to a nylon suitcase.

For a bag and backpack production we suggest the 840 Denier Nylon – This is a high-strength Nylon, durable material with excellent wear properties. For additional tear strength, so-called ripstops can be implemented – Extra-strong fibers are woven into fabric at certain intervals to achieve exceptional tear strength in a lightweight material.

Interior lining: nylon-cotton blended, nylon, cotton, polyester, satin, suede etc.

Printing and Logos. The designed logo artwork needs to be vectorized and the font should be outlined. Preferably name the font in case the font changes. Specify the size and specifications.

Logos and lettering can be applied to the product in various ways. Silk screen of your logo or product name is available in-house. In addition, logos can be sewn or embossed. Logos can, for example, also be produced and installed on a small metal plate. But an additional mold is required.
